If you are looking for help with golf or general mobility I highly recommend Golfers in Motion. I have taken a lot of golf lessons over the years but have seen more progress with my swing positions and ball flight from working with Joey. My range of motion has improved as well as my understanding and ability to move properly in the golf swing. As an added bonus, I have worked with general physical therapists before to address shoulder pain with no success. After working with Joey for a few weeks, I have full range of motion in my shoulder and that alone was well worth the time spent with golfers in motion. Joey is great to work with and I highly recommend

I went to Joey Mactal for physical therapy on my knee after a torn meniscus repair. Joey did a great job with my knee rehab, but he also gave me additional exercises to increase my flexibility and mobility for my golf game. Joey went above and beyond to help me. Thanks Joey!

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions from Round Rock golfers about our training approach and getting started.

What makes your training different from taking lessons at my course?

Lessons improve technique. We improve the engine behind the technique: mobility, strength, and movement capacity so you can actually get into better positions and repeat them under speed.

Most golfers don’t need “more tips.” They need a body that can rotate, load, and control the club without compensations so contact gets cleaner and the swing feels easier.

I've had back or shoulder issues from golf. Can you still help me?

Yes. A lot of golf-related back and shoulder flare-ups come from the body working around restrictions usually in the hips, thoracic spine, or core control. We find what’s forcing the compensation, then build the mobility + stability you need so you can swing with less strain and more confidence.

How often do I need to train to see results?

Most golfers do best with 1–2 sessions per week, plus a simple plan between visits. But the real driver is consistency: we build a program that fits your schedule and keeps you progressing without turning this into a second job.

Do I need to bring my clubs?

Not for your first visit. We start by looking at how your body moves and what’s limiting your positions, rotation, and control. When we do a swing-specific session, bringing your clubs helps us connect the dots between what your body is doing and what’s showing up in your swing.

Is Round Rock too far from your facility?

Not at all. Many of our golfers come from Round Rock, and the drive to Georgetown typically takes 15-20 minutes via I-35. We're worth the short trip for training that actually improves your game.
